Facebook, Twitter Removing All Content Questioning Election Results: It’s No Longer About Trump
First, Facebook removed President Trump. Next, it deleted the accounts of those embracing his message. Now, Facebook is going after free speech. It’s no longer about President Trump.
In a Facebook statement this week by Guy Rosen, VP Integrity, and Monika Bickert, VP Global Policy Management at Facebook, they report:
“We are now removing content containing the phrase ‘stop the steal’ under our Coordinating Harm policy from Facebook and Instagram. We removed the original Stop the Steal group in November and have continued to remove Pages, groups and events that violate any of our policies, including calls for violence. We’ve been allowing robust conversations related to the election outcome and that will continue. But with continued attempts to organize events against the outcome of the US presidential election that can lead to violence, and use of the term by those involved in Wednesday’s violence in DC, we’re taking this additional step in the lead up to the inauguration.”
This is not a right-wing commentary about Facebook’s policies. This is a statement from the Vice Presidents of the company. Any content that mentions “stop the steal” or questions the results of the 2020 presidential election is being deleted from the social network giant.
The statement further reveals, “Our teams are working 24/7 to enforce our policies around the inauguration. We will keep our Integrity Operations Center operating at least through January 22 to monitor and respond to threats in real time.”
24/7? Real time? Facebook is no longer out to stop President Trump. He has already been “banned indefinitely.”
Now Facebook is coming after you.
Yes, you, the law-abiding, patriotic, tax-paying American who believes the basement campaign of Joe Biden that received over 80 million votes seemed a bit too good to be true. Yes, you the informed citizen that read and watched the evidence of massive voter fraud in multiple states and had the boldness to say something about it online.
You are the target. If you question the election, your post has no place on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or any other social media platform.
Twitter released its own communist supporting statement. Though less direct in its wording, the goal is to likewise silence anyone opposing the election results.
Twitter states, “Now that the results of the election have been officially certified by Congress, we updated our Civic Integrity policy on Friday to aggressively increase our enforcement action on these claims.”
This including using automated tools to block content they believe is harmful, limited engagement on labeled tweets, and blocking “violative” keywords from search and trends on its network. Guessing “stop the steal” would be considered violative keywords on Twitter as well.
Many conservatives have lost their Twitter accounts or have had their accounts suspended until after the inauguration. Why? Big Tech gurus claim they are concerned of the “risk of violence.”
Of course, with 15,000 national guard troops expected at the inauguration, at least Biden will now have an audience. There may not be much concern for violence, but Facebook and Twitter will use whatever claims are necessary to stop the conservative voices of America from speaking freely.
